The global network for EdTech Testbeds initiatives

The Global EdTech Testbed Network has one mission - that all learners will benefit from effective and evidence-based EdTech.

The edtech world is fragmented,  and it's costing everyone

Edtech developers can't find authentic environments to trial their products. Policymakers make high-stakes decisions without reliable cross-border evidence. Testbed leaders do groundbreaking work that stays inside a single organisation or country. The same mistakes are often repeated across education systems. The same solutions go unscaled. Not because the ambition is missing  but because the infrastructure isn't there. GETN brings the people and organisations together to work on solving this problem.

The GETN Story

The Global EdTech Testbed Network was formed following a 3-day Jacobs Foundation-funded convening in Rome in February 2023. Bringing together 55 participants from 21 countries and 47 organisations, the event explored how to build stronger, system-wide approaches to piloting and evaluating K–12 EdTech. Through active discussions participants identified key opportunities and challenges, and co-designed prototype testbed models for different regions. Relationships were built, collaborations forged and strengthened, and a global network emerged.

What we stand for

Efficiency

Streamlined processes so the network grows without friction.

Hub

A neutral, central connector. We don't evaluate. We don't gatekeep. We connect.

At scale

International reach is the point. A local testbed should have global impact.

Network

We are the links between nodes, not the nodes themselves.

Learn from others

Knowledge and evidence sharing is the only way to move faster.
