GETN Convening during Bett London 2026

The GETN convening at Bett 2026 brought together global leaders, practitioners, and innovators in EdTech to activate the GETN strategy for 2025-26. The event focused on aligning working groups with GETN’s Theory of Change, fostering meaningful knowledge exchange, and seeding future collaborations.

The new strategic partnership with EdTech Hub (DOHE) for the period July 1, 2026 – May 31, 2026 was announced. This supports GETN operations, website development, and global convenings and enables dedicated regional/national GETN communities. It also seeds the development of a global map of EdTech Testbed initiatives.

Four working groups met to advance GETN’s mission, focused on the following projects:
Developing the mapping of global EdTech Testbed initiatives to enhance their discoverability for a range of audiences.
The creation of a practical playbook for launching EdTech Testbed initiatives.
Supporting policy and evaluation, with the focus on trust, evidence, and responsible innovation
Rethinking Testbed methods in the age of AI.

Updates from GETN communities showcased diverse approaches from rapid-cycle AI trials in the US to capacity-building work in Sub-Saharan Africa; and government-funded testbeds in Europe, to innovative models in Finland and Bulgaria.
